Hi, I’m Kirsten. I am a professional counsellor registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I am a genuine, compassionate, and caring human. Kindness, respect, and honesty form the foundation of my moral compass. I am not driven to change the whole world (although I am not against it), I would simply like to change one person’s world at a time. In my practice, my areas of focus are predominantly trauma counselling as well as identity, sexuality and gender counselling. I am also qualified to administer psychometric assessments, primarily in the area of career guidance. I am committed to helping people (re)discover their strength, voice, power, resilience and capabilities. I believe that each individual is entirely ‘enough’ just as they are. My drive is to make primary mental healthcare services accessible to as many people as possible.
Trauma is entirely subjective. I do not believe that trauma is comparable; if you feel as though you are traumatised, then you have experienced trauma. In offering trauma counselling , I will provide you with a safe, supportive space where you can talk about your experience freely. Together we will also work to develop strategies (tailored to you), which will help with any continuing difficulties you might be faced with as a result of your trauma.
Life skills
coaching assists individuals in making their own decisions and learning
skills to improve both their personal and professional lives. Areas covered
include emotional intelligence skills, setting boundaries, leadership skills,
self-esteem, and time management, to name a few.
